The Art of speaking

When the subject is talking, parrots play an important role. Equipped with an unique ability to mimic human voices they stand out. It is in the hands of the trainer which words or sounds parrots repeat, mechanical maybe but give a great joy.

In the ancient times the parrots have contributed towards preservation of our holy texts. Whether these birds influenced the humans in rote learning or other way around is debatable. Bhagwat puran came to us through the Rishi Sukhadev in a parrot form. It is not just the words or sounds but also the essence of the day to day living. It is believed that Mandan Mishra's house was bejewelled by parrots chanting sanskrit Vedas. Certainly these birds have had a great share in keeping the learning and wisdom intact in Hinduism. The Devi ( feminine form ) goddess has a parrot in one of her hands.

Choosing the right words suitable for the occasion with the time duration in mind and clarity of thought should make any speech a good one. If the focus is on the subject line none of above can be missed. Definitely this calls for discipline and planning, discipline in the matter of no deviation from the topic. This can make the speech logical.

Effectiveness lies in the content delivered . Here comes the problem with people who are exposed to talking on a continuous basis. They cannot edit or regulate their words once spoken. So taking the right time interval to respond or think goes well to help their speeches. Today this applies to people from all walks of life. Questions are being thrown at people only to encourage them to talk incongruously. Their own likes and dislikes add to this discomfort. Unless the speaker comes out of the victim mindset, the talks are not going to be coherent.

In modern times are we interested in such banters? We teach our children the value of time and use of the same. Why should we indulge ourselves in controversial talks that have become the norm ? Can we waste our energy and get distracted ? What for? We will not take any of these talks kindly anymore. India at this juncture can only look forward to moving ahead not being drawn backwards. If the present literate Indians are being subjected to this regularly, progress shall stay back. May the parrots inspire us to fly high without fear.
